Dear Lord,

Lent begins today.
Oh, that crazy 40 day festivity of yours.
And to be perfectly honest, I haven't decided what I'm going to give up or what I'm going to do for the common good of humanity.
And to be perfectly honest again, and probably a little selfish and unreasonable and so on, I feel like I've already given a lot up, so why do I have to add to the list?

    I'm feeling the same way. If I've already given up almost everything that matters, what good does it do for me to give up chocolate, too?

I'm too young to be this disheartened when my plans completely fall through. It never seems to fail though, I can plan a whole day (okay, a handful of hours in my evening), it will go wonderfully in my mind, and then when the time comes... *plunk* Nope, not gonna happen that way.
